Top 5 Places to Elope in the Adirondacks.
Updated: Sep 5, 2022
Are you planning an elopement in the beautiful Adirondacks? Upstate New York's range of mountains have so much to offer. From high peak wilderness, to flat trails and fields with mountain views, as well as creeks and waterfalls... we have it all! Here are my personal picks for the "Top 5 Places to Elope in the Adirondacks."
1.) Keene Field

Without a doubt, my favorite field is at the intersection of Route 73 and 9N. On a nice day, you can count on a bright sunrise alpenglow, and the most spectacular sunset just beyond the horizon of the tall mountains in the distance. It is a gorgeous location in all 4 seasons. For a couple not looking to hike on their wedding day, but wanting a mountainous backdrop, this is for you! (If you're not eloping, you can always do a first look, or adventure session here as well!)
2.) Marcy Field

This is another field in Keene Valley with a plethora of different mountain views. Another great way to get outdoors and enjoy nature, without the effort of a hike on your elopement or wedding day!
3.) Lake George

There are an array of mountain tops you can climb, and beaches you can get married at, on Lake George! It is a spring fed lake, and is crystal clear the the very bottom. James and Carrie eloped on Lac du Sacrement with their closest friends and family this past summer. They spent their honeymoon in Lake Placid and hiked all over the Adirondacks! Ashley & Galen had a micro wedding at the Boathouse Restaurant on Lake George in the fall of 2021. Absolutely stunning backdrop!!
4.) Mount Jo in North Elba, NY

The high peak views on Mount Jo do not disappoint!!! 1.8 mile out and back trail has views for days. Heart Lake makes for a great second stop on this beautiful hike as well.
5.) Whiteface Mountain

What's really amazing about Whiteface Mountain, is you don't have to hike to get to the top! If you want to skip the super hard work on the day you choose to marry your best friend, we understand, and we won't judge you for it. There are plenty of mountains to choose from to hike on your elopement, but there is only one in Lake Placid to drive up!
Bonus:
Our favorite Adirondack Venues with a view is Experience Outdoors - Scott's Cobble Weddings. If you want a sunrise or sunset elopement on top of a mountain and an ATV to get you there, this is the venue for you!!
