Top 5 Places to Elope in the Adirondacks.

Updated: Oct 7, 2020

Are you planning an elopement in the beautiful Adirondacks? Upstate New York's range of mountains have so much to offer. From high peak wilderness, to flat trails and fields with mountain views, as well as creeks and waterfalls... we have it all! Here are my personal picks for the "Top 5 Places to Elope in the Adirondacks."

1.) Keene Field

Without a doubt, my favorite field is at the intersection of Route 73 and 9N. On a nice day, you can count on a bright sunrise alpenglow, and the most spectacular sunset just beyond the horizon of the tall mountains in the distance. It is a gorgeous location in all 4 seasons. For a couple not looking to hike on their wedding day, but wanting a mountainous backdrop, this is for you! (If you're not eloping, you can always do a first look, or adventure session here as well!)

2.) Whiteface Field

This is another field in Wilmington with a very different mountain view; Whiteface in all her Glory. Another great way to get outdoors and enjoy nature, without the effort of a hike on your wedding day.

3.) Lake George

There are an array of mountain tops you can climb, and beaches you can get married at, on Lake George! It is a spring fed lake, and is crystal clear the the very bottom. James and Carrie eloped on Lac du Sacrement with their closest friends and family this past summer. They spent their honeymoon in Lake Placid and hiked all over the Adirondacks!

4.) Hadley, New York

From forests that will make you feel like the woodland bride you are, to rivers and mountain views, Hadley will not disappoint for an elopement location. A small town nestled in the Adirondacks, does it get better than that? (Cough, no. It doesn't!) Ross and Katie popped up an event tent, and threw a DIY wedding on the Sacandaga River in the early fall months of 2019.

5.) Whiteface Mountain / Whiteface Club and Resort

What's really amazing about Whiteface Mountain, is you have two options:

Plan A: Hike a high peak mountain.

Plan B: Drive up a high peak mountain.

If you're a hiker and want to hike, you have that option! But if you want to skip the super hard work on the day you choose to marry your best friend, we understand, and we won't judge you for it. There are plenty of mountains to choose from to hike on your elopement, but there is only one in Lake Placid to drive up! You can't beat the incredible view, and can even rent Whiteface Club and Resort, to have the whole summit to yourself.

6.) BONUS - Marcy Field
